Look, I know it’s hard to transition your tired brain to focus on something else to do, so to help you out, I’ve made you this quick-and-dirty guide to the basics of adding your own text to the dance stock photos.
I know this is the LAST thing you want to be spending your time doing, but stay with me here, I have laid this out for you simply so that you can have successful campaigns or posts from now on as long as you follow these key rules ("actually they're more like guidelines..."):
1. KISS– Yup, you know it. Keep It Simple, Silly! Select only 1-4 total sentences to add to your photos. Don’t overwhelm your clients with large paragraphs to read, save it for the caption and body of your post/blog.
And to keep things even simpler select up to 1 - 3 of your brand colors, that are used throughout your website and social media channels (hint you should have about 3 dominant colors that you use consistently)and use those in all your photos.
Once you open your Canva account you need to first choose a template you want to use.
Word to the wise here find a template that has just a photo with or without text, KISS!
Click anywhere on the template to begin editing.
Be sure to add your desired photo to the template before editing/adding text, it's just easier.
Then at the lower right-hand corner click the plus/add symbol ( + ) to choose a new text format.
Highlight the text you want to adjust like add or take away words.
Remember to save by clicking the checkmark in the upper left corner before moving on.
Now you can customize your text.
Once you click on one of the text lines you can customize to your heart's content. Change the font, color, spacing, size, it's up to you.
Don't fret you can edit text templates the same exact way.
Now once you've finished adding/editing your text you can directly publish to different social media platforms by clicking the download symbol on your upper right-hand corner, scroll to find your preferred platform tap, and go!
